Dry Canyon Over-nighter

This slideshow is of a recent over-nighter with Miranda, Jared and Carson. Carson and I arrived first, set up the tents and ate. Miranda and Jared arrived about 8:30 or so. We played Rook, watched an episode of Wings (M and J brought their portable DVD player) and then turned in for a night of tossing and turning. (Plenty cozy despite temps in the teens, but this ol' dad doesn't do too well sleeping on hard surfaces. Morning found us braving the chill to take in the fantastic view and warming up to some hot cocoa and oatmeal! Miranda and Jared had to leave, but Carson and I tried to summit Mt. Baldy. We didn't guite make it, but had an exhausting blast trying! What a view!

Christmas Day 2007

OK, so my terrific kids got me this wonderful new camera for Christmas so I thought what fun it would be to creat my own blog and share the pictures with one and all. Let's start with Christmas day and see where we go from there.

The Grandmas enjoying the fun with the gang.

Grandpa catching all the action from the easy chair. It was great to have Grandpa and Grandma Perry with us. Grandpa has been feeling better lately and if the commotion of the 5 day visit didn't set him back we are optimistic that he will continue to feel better with each passing day.

Miranda and Jared review a moment captured on their new video camera.

Presents opened one by one this year. Slow, yes, but Mom loved it!

Cory proudly sports his new Harry Potter goggles.

"Rainbow socks for me? Oh Grandma, you shouldn't have!"

The handsome couple takes in the celebration downstairs at Grandma and Grandpa Holbrooks place.

Diva Danika with her new coat.

Brionna is feeling pretty terrific about her new doll.

The Queen of Christmas!

"Books, books and more books!"

"OK, I am so taking this back, but I'm just too nice a daughter to not flash mom that 'it's just what I've always wanted!' grin."

Carson tries to conceal his disapointment at not getting his own pair of rainbow socks.

If diamonds are a girl's best friend, then pearls (especially if given by one's daughter) certainly come in a very close second.

Grandpa and Cass study something interesting.

And yes it was a wonderfully white Christmas!

After all the excitement of the morning, a few of us decided to brave the sledding slopes of Provo. Fortunately, I was there with my spiffy new camera to capture all the high speed action!

I'll make you a deal - you keep posting all the spiffy new pics that you take with that new camera we got you and I'll try to keep up with posting lots of pictures of your soon to arrive (hopefully) new grand-daughter.

ummm... For the record, every comment made about me is totally not valid. ESPECIALLY the one about me missing the jump. More like dad missing the good camera angle, but he is still learning, so you can't be too hard on him.
